BiographyHistory

Hana Assafiri was born in Melbourne, 1964, and lived in Lebanon with her family for much of her childhood. In 1976, her family returned to Australia.

As an activist, she works to help Muslim women through community events. She also founded Speed Date a Muslim.

Hana is also a chef, and founder of Moroccan Soup Bar, Melbourne.

Hana was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll of Women in 2017, and in 2019 was awarded the Order of Australia.
