AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The narrator walks with a woman he calls Birdie towards the beach, following two other girls. He soon discovers all three of them are blind with thin membrane-like skin growing over their eyes. When he calls out for directions, one swoops on him and carries him out to sea, where they have sex; the narrator's eyes also become the same.
