'Dr Bronwyn Fredericks is an Aboriginal woman originally from South-east Queensland, ... and is widely acknowledged as a writer, educator and community activist. She writes poetry, socio-political prose, essays and academic papers and has been published within Australia and internationally, including the USA, Canada, Ireland and England. Some of her work has been used in community-based training programs and university courses. Bronwyn [Fredericks] is a National Health and Medical Research Council (NH&MRC) Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with Monash University; the Queensland Aboriginal and Islander Health Council (QAIHC), which is the peak body agency for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health service sector in Queensland; and the Indigenous Studies Research Network at the Queensland University of Technology.'
