BiographyHistory

Rhoda Dugururru Lalara has been a language officer at Groote Eylandt Linguistics for over 33 years. With her passion for the 'Anindilyakwa language, culture and heritage, she uses her literacy expertise to keep this acient language alive'. Lalara has worked with with many other storytellers in the communities of Groote Eylandt and Bickerton Island.

She has worked with Caroline Damagilyuwa Wurramara at Groote Eylandt Linguistics translating the stories of Gula Lalara, Darugwabandja Wurrawilya and Demangiarawa Wurrawilya from Anindilyakwa Language into English.
