BiographyHistory

Litsa Gogas was born in Aigion, Greece, one of nine children of a poor farming family. After six years of formal education, she worked for many years as a dressmaker. In 1956 she migrated to Australia.

Gogas has been a member of the Greek-Australian Cultural League of Melbourne, Kentro Technis and the Hellenic Writers' Association of Australia. Her work has been read on Radio 3ZZ in 1990 and she has read at La Trobe University and the Spoleto Festival, on the SBS TV program 'Vox Populi' in 1987 and at the Northcote Library in 1989.
