BiographyHistory

Born in the seaside village of Arnside, Westmorland in Northwest England and educated in Heversham, Vince Jones spent two years in the RAF before training as a teacher. He taught in Cheshire, and in 1964 visited New South Wales, teaching in Sydney schools. Three years later he came to Australia to live, settling in Queensland. He has been a teacher-librarian at Serviceton State School and has worked as Regional Library Adviser for the Queensland Education Department.

As well as his writing for children he has written several works on education.
