1 6 y separately published work icon Wild Libby Hart , World Square : Pitt Street Poetry , 2014 7186836 2014 selected work poetry

'Wild is a collection of short, precise and often minimal poems. Part One takes as its focus the Scandinavian tale of Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory), a pair of ravens with the power of speech, who are said to travel the world to gather information for the Norse god, Odin. This sequence of poems is a playful and eclectic weaving together of personal, imaginary and traditional myth.

'Part Two (Murmurations) centres on animal and human migration, beginning with a sequence of poems about starlings, principally the migrant starlings that descend on Rome each autumn and winter. Poems that link swarms, exodus, arrival, home, exile, elegy, trees, nest building, mythology, augury, local folklore, and associations between sky, sea and land are also included.

'Wild evokes notions of wonder and wander, landscapes and affiliations, myths and talismans, as well as mystery and celebration. The collection also addresses and ruminates on our ties to, and experience with, the world around us. ' (Author's summary)
