BiographyHistory

Poet and granddaughter of poet and politician George Houston Reid (1845-1918), Anne Fairbairn has published widely. Her bio-note in The Opening of Borders reads: 'As a "bridge-builder", trying to build understanding between cultures, she has been involved in building a bridge of poems between Australia and the Arab world since 1980' (p 45).
