BiographyHistory

Bibliographer, writer and reviewer, Kerry White has written numerous articles, reviews, bibliographies and biographical pieces on Australian writing and authors for Australian and overseas reference works, monographs and journals. She has written major bibliographical works on Australian children's literature and co-created The Source, a subscription-based website guide to children's literature from Australia and around the world.

White graduated from the University of Wollongong where she also tutored and lectured in Australian literature and children's books until she left teaching in 1989 to concentrate on bibliography and writing. She has been a judge for the Children's Book Council of Australia Children's Book of the Year Awards, a member of the judging panel for the 2001 New South Wales Premier's Literary awards, a judge for the Taronga Poetry prize and has served on the board of the Poetry Australia Foundation. She was awarded a National Library of Australia scholar's fellowship in 2001.
