BiographyHistory

Jen Crawford was winner of the 1995 Philip Larkin Prize, runner-up of the same competition the previous year, and was highly commended for the 1995 QueerLit Short Story Competition. She has been arts editor of Tertangala (the University of Wolongong student newspaper), and has been on the editorial committee of Scarp and Figments. Crawford holds a PhD from the University of Wollongong, and has taught English and Creative Writing at the University of Auckland, New Zealand.

In 2012 she was teaching Creative Writing in the Division of English at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
In 2019, Crawford's unpublished poetry collection - A General Image of the Whole Countryside Recovering from the Effects of Winter - was shortlisted for the Helen Anne Bell Poetry Bequest Award.
