BiographyHistory

John Clements was an oral and social historian and peace activist whose collection of oral histories is housed in the Murdoch University Library. Interviewees include Albert Facey, Vivian Bullwinkle, and Senator Bob Brown. From 1936-1945 Clements was a radio announcer for the ABC on 2LO in Sydney. He was a member of the Communist Party from this time until 1968. Clements held a number of different jobs in the post-war period. In his later years, he toured Australia introducing poetry to schools, with readings and recordings.
