BiographyHistory

Academic, historian, and author.

Molony began work with ANU as a research assistant in medieval history in the School of Social Science, in 1964. He later became head of the Department of History and the Manning Clark Chair of Australian History, which he held from 1982 until 1990 (his retirement). Following his retirement from ANU, he held the Keith Cameron Professorship of History at University College Dublin (1990-1993) and Foundation Research Professorship in History at the Australian Catholic University in Canberra (1993-1996).
