Notes
-
Only those works that have substantial Australian material, or which were written during (or as a consequence) of Hume's time in Australia have been indexed in AustLit.
An example of this is Hume's 1893 novel, The Jolly Roger. Although Australian Horror Writer's Association website includes this work in its 'Checklist of Australian Fantasy and Horror,' the fact that Hume had been back living in Great Britain from 1872 and did not return to the Antipodes until two years after that novel's publication (in addition to it having no Australian content) necessarily excludes its inclusion as a work of Australian literature.
