BiographyHistory

Burchett was a controversial journalist whose links to the Communist Party in Australia and overseas and his writings in defence of nationalist movements led to the withdrawal of his Australian passport and charges of treason. Burchett was the author of many books on Asia and the Pacific, in particular the Vietnam War.
