BiographyHistory

In 1980 Kathy Kituai moved from Adelaide to Papua New Guinea. After living in Port Moresby for four years she returned to Australia in 1984 and settled in Canberra. Kituai has since become 'well-known' for her contribution to community writing projects in the ACT region. She has been vice-president of the ACT Fellowship of Australian Writers, facilitated writing workshops, scripted a radio documentary and (co-)edited several anthologies. Maintaining her 'passion for poetry', Katuai has won a number of awards for her writing.

In 2009 Kituai received Arts ACT funding for a residency in Lochinvar, Scotland, to produce a collaborative work with Scottish potter, Fergus Stewart.
