BiographyHistory

A major part of Joyce Fardell's library career was spent with New South Wales Library Services. She was head of the Service from 1959 to 1979 and, through this role, made significant contributions to the development of school libraries across New South Wales. Fardell was also a specialist in Australian children's literature and lent her considerable support to the Children's Book Council of Australia and the organising of Children's Book Week.
