BiographyHistory

Brockhampton Book Company was founded in Leicester in 1938 by Hodder and Stoughton to reduce surplus stock of theological works. It was renamed Brockhampton Press in 1940 when it began using paper offcuts to produce cartoon booklets for children. Enid Blyton was employed to write the texts, and the company was soon publishing her books, which, together with the work of W. E. Johns, established Brockhampton as a successful children's book publisher. From 1964 all Hodder and Stoughton children's titles were published by Brockhampton Press.

Brockhampton Press became an imprint of the Caxton Publishing Group.
