Personal Awards
- 2013 winner Don Banks Music Award for outstanding contribution to Australian music.
- 2009 Queensland Greats Awards Nationally and internationally renowned singer and songwriter Kev Carmody has worked tirelessly as an Aboriginal advocate promoting awareness of Indigenous issues through his music and academic achievements. Kev has released seven critically acclaimed albums and as a tribute to his songwriting skills, has had an album recorded by some of Australia’s most prominent recording artists. In 2008 Kev was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Southern Queensland and in 2009 was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. Kev continues to inspire people with his passionate songwriting and storytelling, and for his years of service as educator, writer and producer.
