BiographyHistory

Ron Stevens is the son of Horace Alfred Stevens and his wife, Elizabeth Beulah Stevens nee Alderton of Sydney. Ron Stevens joined the Royal Australian Air Force in 1944 but transferred to the Royal Australian Navy in 1946 where he remained until 1974. He retired as a Commander. Stevens gained a B.A. degree majoring in English Literature from Macquarie University in 1979 and joined writing groups such as the Youngstreet Poets. Stevens has been an office bearer, and is a life member, of the New South Wales Branch of the Fellowship of Australian Writers. He is also a founding member of the Australian Bush Poets' Association.
