BiographyHistory

Michelle Dicinoski completed a Master of Philosophy and a PhD, both in creative writing, at the University of Queensland. In 2008 she received an Australian Society of Authors mentorship to work on her first poetry collection, Electricity for Beginners. Some of her work has been broadcast on ABC Radio National's Poetica. Her video poem 'Go' won the Filmmaker's Challenge at the Queensland Poetry Festival in 2008. In 2010, she attended Hedgebrook, a writing retreat on Whidbey Island, Washington, where she won an Elizabeth George Award for outstanding applicants.
