BiographyHistory

The four W. Sloane Associates' founders had worked together at Henry Holt. They left when Holt was taken over. In 1951 Sloane merged with Frank Watts, a children's publisher. But the company was in financial trouble and in 1952 William Morrow acquired the company (see Morrow).
