BiographyHistory

Peter Carnavas has been a primary school teacher in Clermont and Bundaberg, Queensland. He was shortlisted in the State Library of Queensland Young Writer's Award in 1999 and 2001.

Carnavas's first book, Jessica's Box, was published in 2008. Since then, he has published a range of solo works, as well as collaborating with authors such as Pat Flynn and Damon Young. Carnavas's Sarah's Heavy Heart and Last Tree in the City have also been adapted to the stage, by Artslink and the Dead Puppet Society.

His first novel (for children), The Elephant, was published in 2017 and was shortlisted for a range of awards, including the NSW Premier's Literary Award for childrne's books.
