BiographyHistory

Ken Spillman is an historian and writer who grew up in the western suburbs of Perth, Western Australia.

His books include several works on aspects of Western Australian history. In 1986, his book, Identity Prized : A History of Subiaco, won a Fellowship of Australian Writers National Literary Award and a Western Australia Week Literary Award. In 1995 he completed a Ph.D. on the subject of 'Colonial Politics and Administration of Development Policies in Western Australia 1883-1902'.

Spillman also writes books for children and young adults.
