F H Johnston's policy was to "publish books that will present Australia to Australians and the world. Subjects are chosen from those which seem not only of vital current interest, but also of lasting value as records of this young nation. The highest technical standard has been set in layout, typography, illustration and printing. We are prepared to consider undertaking the publishing of manuscripts dealing with General literature, Art, Australiana, Political and Social Science, Medical and Educational Textbooks, Natural History, Travel, Adventure and Children's Books on either a royalty or a profit sharing basis established by a comprehensive author-publisher legal agreement. Distribution of our publications throughout Australasia is organised through the Company's wholesaling section and in conjunction with a number of the well established trade wholesalers.
