Note in the 1963 edition: [Dalla Sua Pace] is an aria by Don Ottavio in Mozart's opera, Don Giovanni. In a burlesque version of the opera popular in Germany in the early nineteenth century, Don Giovanni was called Herr von Schwaenkerich (Mr Prankster) and Don Ottavio, Herr von Fischblut (Mr Fishblood). The poem refers to the first scene of the opera, though both the arias mentioned occur in later scenes.
