Production Details

  • Commissioned by the Nimrod Theatre Company Sydney, on May 12 1982. Act One had its first workshops in 1982 in readings and discussions with the author's friends and writing group. In August 1982, while the author was writer-in-residence at Nimrod, the work-in-progress was given a workshop by Aubrey Mellor (director). By October 1982, The Boiling Frog included Acts One and Two and some key speeches from Act Three and was given a workshop and public reading at Nimrod as part of the Women and Arts Festival, directed by Chris Johnson. It was first performed at the Nimrod Theatre, Sydney, 11 July 1984. Director: John Bell.
