This book comprises two parts. The first part (p.1-125) is Templeton's examination of Valtellina migrants to Australia from the 1860s to the early 1950s. The second part (p.127-352) is a selection of over 100 letters written by the migrants over the same time period.

Notes

  • Valtellina is a province of Sondrio in Lombardy, Italy. It is located in the mountains near the border with Switzerland.
