A bus terminal in a country town in the middle of the night, where three unlikely companions are thrown together by circumstance. Macca, Dayne and Doug are as different as ... well, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate ice cream. But in one extraordinary night of drinking, talking and fighting, they find their common ground.

'Eating Ice Cream with Your Eyes Closed' came into existence through Queensland Theatre Company 's The Works program in 2002. The play was further developed over the two-week National Playwrights Conference with Michael Gow as dramaturg and director.
Production Details

First produced in 2003 in Newcastle, New South Wales by the Workers Cultural Action Committee and the Dog Day Moon Project with funding from the Australia Council in 2003.
Co-produced with HotHouse Theatre at the Cremorne Theatre, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Brisbane, 2 - 28 August 2004. Director: Jean-Marc Russ
