A bienniel prize proposed by the International PEN Sydney Centre and funded alternately by the Ministry for the Arts and the Community Relations Commision. The prize recognizes the role translators play in enabling writers and readers to communicate across cultures and in ensuring that dissident voices are heard around the world.
