History
The Voices on the Coast writing competition accepted entries of up to 30,000 words from previously unpublished authors. Stories were to be aimed at children aged eight to 13 years. First prize was $1500

This competition, begun in 2007, is sponsored by Maroochy Shire Council and is open to previously unpublished authors who are writing for children aged 8-13. It is part of the regional youth literature festival, Voices on the Coast, Sunshine Coast, Queensland.
