History

The Penguin Awards, were offered by the Television Society of Australia for quality Australian television programs. The awards categories included: a Gold Penguin, Individual Penguins and Certificates of Commendation of Special Recognition.

In 1980, a seven-episode series, Trial by Marriage was spun off from this television play: the series took place in the early days of the marriage.
