History
A prize of £50 was] offered for the W. J Miles memorial competition for a poem that was Australian in spirit and feeling.The prize money was contributed by friends of the late W J. Miles in appreciation of his devotion to his country. The Jindyworobak Club sponsored the competition and had sole rights over publication for six months, with possession of copyright of anything published on a 30-50 basis.
