History
The Somerset National Novella Writing Competition is open to all current secondary students attending school in Australia. Students receiving home schooling are eligible to enter. The competition is sponsored by Penguin Random House Australia and Bond University.

The Somerset National Novella Writing Competition is open to Australian secondary school students. Novellas of between 10,000 and 20,000 words are accepted. Prizes are awarded to five state finalists; an overall winner is chosen from among these five.
