  • Nigel Triffitt was expelled from the National Intitute of Dramatic Art directing course after one year. He worked as a dresser at London's Mermaid Theatre and studied at the Drama Centre, but he was expelled from the latter and returned to Australia in 1971. In Australia, Triffit established a strong reputation for innovative theatrical experiences. He worked in dance, puppetry, cabaret, opera, sculpture, film, rock music and theatre-in-education. Triffitt also wrote the novel Cheap Thrills (1994) and the drama 'The Fall of Singapore' (1987).
