Description

This topic offers the opportunity to write for children in intensive workshop sessions. Students will learn about the craft of writing as well as about the cultural environment in which writing for children is received. The focus is on picture books (including poetic narratives). Students examine the crucial issues affecting children's writers (for example, censorship; how children learn to read) and gain an understanding of the relationship between verbal and visual narratives. In addition, students develop their creativity, polish writing skills and sharpen critical abilities. Regular exercises will encourage students to keep writing.
