Students will build upon their knowledge of creative writing in order to understand, read, write and edit poetry, in particular fixed form poetry and free verse. Students will also develop skills in preparing material for publication, and researching poetry published in South Australia. They will be mentored in order to integrate effectively into the local and national poetry scene, and to establish contact with the structures operating in the field, such as the SA Writers’ Centre, Arts SA, Australia Council, local presses, Friendly Street Poets and other organisations, which will help them maintain future professional development after graduation.
