If we read his works in green fro the ecological content we can see nature writ large in series of his novels: The Tree of Man, a man's poetic dream of life in the bush is destroyed by the devastating effects of urban expansion; Voss, an ego-centric German's conquest of nature causes his failure and death in the Australian outback; in A Fringe of Leaves, a young woman's true nature is presented and when she is precipitated into the primitive, savage natural world she finds "the hero within" herself.' 'Monkey Grip is a masterpiece of the famous contemporary writer Helen Gamer. The main line of the novel reflects the marginalized characters' lives and state of mind in the sixties and seventies of 20th Century. This article interprets the novel from the perspective of feminism: modem female identity although it obtains the right to pursue love, but caught in the dilemmas in face of lover and husband, but also has to bear the burden of raising children alone. The social significance of the novel is to expose life' s hardship of a single mother, to explore tenacious pursuit of pure love, and modern women's confusion in the face of adversity. 

'小说《毒瘾难戒》是当代著名小说家海伦加纳的代表作.该小说以女主人翁诺拉的情感纠葛为主线,反映了20世纪六七十年代现代女性中边缘化人物的生活与思想状态.本文从女性主义角度出发对小说进行解读:现代女性身份的主人翁虽然获得了追求爱情的权利,却陷入面对情人与丈夫情感纠结的两难抉择中,同时还不得不承担独自抚养孩子的重担.小说的社会意义在于揭露了现代女性中边缘化人物单身母亲生活的艰辛,表达了女性追求纯真爱情的强烈愿望,探究了现代女性在情感逆境中的困惑.'
