This unit examines Australias national literature in its historical and cultural context. It provides a broad coverage of Australian literature from the early nineteenth century to the present and may include a variety of forms such as poetry, prose and drama. The unit focuses on issues such as landscape, Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identities, gender issues and multiculturalism.
