This subject provides an introduction to the creative writing process, focusing on two areas of writing form: prose fiction and non-fiction. In this subject, you will gain skills in order to approach a range of works, including but not limited to: the micro-fiction, the short story, the memoir, and the autobiographical essay. The subject also allows you to develop your skills in the writing process. You will explore such topics as: ‘truth’ in fiction and nonfiction, finding ideas for writing, exploring the uses of language for a writer, negotiating the drafting process, workshopping your writing and editing.
