1 1 Man with the Iron Neck Joshua Bond , Ursula Yovich , 2018 single work drama

'A new work from one of Australia’s leading physical theatre companies tells the story of an Australian family – three Aboriginal kids from a small town – and how two choose to survive when one is lost.

'When Ash loses his best friend Bear to suicide, he becomes obsessed with early-20th-century stunt man The Great Peters – AKA ‘Man With The Iron Neck’ – whose most famous stunt saw him jump off bridges with a rope tied around his neck, and live. The Great Peters embodied both life and death, but in the end what he promises is impossible.

'Based on an original work by Co-Director Josh Bond, this daring and delicate show brings together Co-Director Gavin Robins, writer/actor Ursula Yovich and some of Australia’s best artists to weave together text, aerial performance, and ambitious video design.

'Man With The Iron Neck is a story about embracing life, told with humour, poignancy and love.'(Production summary)

'Meet Barbara and her band the Camp Dogs. Barbara’s been trying to make it in Sydney but maybe this just isn’t her town. In all the relentless demands of city life, where’s the sense of belonging she craves? It’s time to take a break with her cousin René.

With Ursula Yovich as Barbara and Casey Donovan as her redoubtable cousin, Barbara and the Camp Dogs is a rock-gig musical about love and home.' (Production summary)
