1 Old King Coal Fregmonto Stokes , 2015 single work drama
— Appears in: ATYP's The Voices Project : The Encore Edition 2015;
1 1 Kill the PM Fregmonto Stokes , 2014 single work drama

'In the short space of an evening, four old friends will gather in a warehouse and determine whether or not their cause is worth committing an act of murder. Outside, under their windows, a car containing the Prime Minister will soon drive past. Is it an opportunity too good to miss, or an egregious mistake with terrible ramifications?

'James Dalton, director of The Criminals and A Butcher of Distinction, returns to Old 505 with a new play created by Australian playwright Fregmonto Stokes, whose agit-prop persona “Twiggy Palmcock” embodies a committed, satirical style of political theatre for the 21st century.' 1 The Death of Senor Muy Rico Fregmonto Stokes , 2013 single work essay
— Appears in: Voiceworks , Winter no. 93 2013; (p. 65-68)

'On the day before Christmas, Senor Muy Rico was happy. He strutted about his pen proudly, his feathers puffed out, showing off to his lady friends and putting his male competitors to shame. If the peasants on whose farm he lived had owned a mirror, and if he had had the mental capacity to recognise his own reflection, he would have been most pleased at his dangling purple gobble and glossy black fan of tail feathers. Senor Muy Rico's life was filled with simple pleasures: mating, strutting, eating - living moment by moment. So simple was his approach to life, in fact, that he did not even know that his name was Senor Muy Rico.'  (Publication abstract)

1 1 1938 : An Opera Fregmonto Stokes , Ashlee Clapp (composer), 2012 single work musical theatre opera satire

'On Australia Day in 1938, Australia’s first major Aboriginal protest, the ‘Day of Mourning’ took place. "1938: An Opera" cunningly invents an alternative history where Aboriginal activist Marge Tucker teams up with Italian Anarchists and Chinese Communists to subvert a re-enactment of Governor Phillip’s landing, and courageously expose the brutality behind the White Australia Policy, all while singing and dancing!' 1 The Endarkenment : A Pedal Powered Opera Fregmonto Stokes , Angus Leslie (composer), Julius Millar (composer), 2010 single work musical theatre opera

'Set in the wake of an economic collapse, where the coal power plants are defunct and the electricity grid lies lifeless, 'The Endarkenment' depicts the struggle of several deluded survivors to resurrect the electric past.

Advertising jingles have become religious hymns, and the banality of our contemporary technology-drenched lifestyles is remembered with idyllic reverence. Requiems to the past are sung in a linguistic fusion of Beowulf era old English, corporate jargon and internet chat, accompanied by a fragmented score of Bollywood beats, gypsy jazz and 16th century Christian choral music.

In the dark, only our desperate and furious pedaling will conjure the light.' (Source: Melbourne Fringe Festival 2010 website, www.melbournefringe.com.au (sighted 06/10/2010)
