The Greater Dandenong National Writing Awards, along with WordsFest, celebrates the written word each year between March and June. The writing competition attracts prizemoney of over $4,500 and is awarded in the following categories: Open Poetry, Open Short Story, ESL Encouragement, Teen Short Story, Teen Poetry, Junior Short Story and Junior Poetry.
