AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Two parallel worlds – one dark and mysterious - where an ancient people live under the harsh rule of an evil sorceress; the other a small country town where nothing out of the ordinary ever happens until ... An ancient talisman in the form of a bullroarer unlocks a mysterious past where Zordran, the evil sorceress, rules with an iron fist. Doomed to be executed for breaking Zordran’s laws, a disenchanted village youth named Fen is rescued and brought back to the present. With his rescuers, Jack Hunter and Ruby Tuesday, Fen plots his return to save his partner Brydyn, and to destroy Zordran and the devil-man Hellgrud. * When Jack Hunter finds an ancient bullroarer with strange symbols and a beast’s head carved on it he discovers he can stop time, but that’s not all ... each time he uses the bullroarer he has ‘visions’ seen through a curtain of shimmering light - visions of towers looming in the mist; of a creepy looking woman with a tattooed skull; of a young man and woman being pursued by a wooden beast called Hellgrud. With his new-found power Jack sets out to embarrass and humiliate the bully Ben Scanlon, but is increasingly mystified by the ‘visions’ until one day he pushes through the curtain that separates the present from the past. He finds himself in an ancient village where the youth Fen is imprisoned in the Black Tower waiting to be executed on the Stone. Jack and his new-found friend Ruby Tuesday rescue Fen and bring him back to the present. Back in the present, Jack, Ruby and Fen hatch a daring plan to return to the village to rescue Brydyn and destroy the Towers of Zordran. As the towers topple to the ground Zordran reveals her true self before dissolving into a puddle of green slime and Jack slays the devil-man Hellgrud. Before they return to the present Jack snatches up Zordran’s silver ring as a souvenir, a ring that holds even more secrets.'
