This Book Is Deliberately Biased, Humphrey McQueen , extract criticism
'This book is deliberately biased. It has to be biased in order to tell the truth. For nearly two hundred years white Australians have lived a lie about the Aborigines. To see the truth clearly the balance has to be drawn in favour of the Aborigines which means that this book begins by accepting that white Australians are prejudiced against Aborigines. It recognizes these prejudices and argues against them without making any concession to them.' (Introduction)
(p. 2)
The Australian Aboriginal Heritage : An Introduction Through the Arts, Ronald M. Berndt (editor), E. S. Phillips (editor), single work non-fiction (p. 9-15)
The Secondary Grants Scheme - And the Fourth Year, Reg Saunders , single work column
'During the last year I have kept my eyes and ears open for sights and sounds of consequences of the Secondary Grants Scheme. I did this because I remember how excited I was when the scheme was implemented early in 1970. I thought at the time it was one of, if not the, most important break-throughs in Aboriginal advancement, and today I am even more convinced that this is so.' (Introduction)
(p. 16, 18)
Other Times - The Journal of Edward Eyre, Edward John Eyre , single work diary
'After a four months' journey of great difficulty and danger Edward John Eyre and his companion Wylie, an Aboriginal from the Albany district in Western Australia completed the first crossing from Fowler's Bay to the south west of Western Australia.'(Introduction)
(p. 22)
