AbstractHistoryArchive Description
'In a media release early in 1990, the University of Queensland Press (UQP) launched the 'Black Australian Writers' series, suggesting that the aim was to 'open new and exciting opportunities in Black writing'. Such opportunities, of course, have been well and truly opened up for the best part of a decade, thanks to the resolve of publishing houses such as Fremantle Arts Centre Press, Allen and Unwin, Currency, Penguin and, of course, the Aboriginal Studies Press.'
