'Tainui Tukiwaho has worked as a director, a producer, a writer and an actor since graduating from Unitec in 2001. He has made feature-length and short films, has created innovative theatre works and is continually cast by major television and film-making companies.

Tainui is fluent in te reo Māori and has worked with many of New Zealand’s Māori language production companies; he has created Te Pou theatre and Māori-language-driven company Te Rēhia Theatre Company.'
