AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Peter Bradley was fortunate to find a first-hand account of Roland Robert Bradley, his Australian-born great grandfather’s shipwreck survival in 1894. Roland’s grandfather, James Bradley, was a First Fleet convict who arrived on the Scarborough. In the colony, he had married Sarah Barnes, transported on the Mary Ann in 1791. The shipwreck story initially inspired Peter’s interest in family and Australian history and this book is the result.' (Introduction)
