澳大利亚文学翻译是中国外国文学翻译不可或缺的部分。本文在文献调查的基础上,以学术史为视角,重点论述改革开放前30年澳大利亚文学翻译与研究成果的特点及其形成原因,指出这一时期的澳大利亚文学研究基本上是译介性成果,具有数量较少、质量较高、文学体裁单一的特点,这与当时中澳两国所实施的治国方略和文化政策密切相关

'The rendition of Australian literary works into Chinese has been an integral part of China’s modern-day translation of foreign literatures. As a detailed literature review shows, during the 30 years or so prior to China’s adoption of the "reform and opening up" policy, the Australian literary works translated and studied in the country were small in number, generically unvaried and yet high-quality as far as the translation is concerned. These features could be accounted for by referring to the political and culture conditions then prevailing in China and Australia.'
