Where Happiness Hides was published by Little Dirt Books and made freely available on their website in multiple languages. The publisher stated that:
Where Happiness Hides is a gift to the children of the world during social isolation for the duration of the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, translated into multiple languages.
The English-language version and, later, the Wiradjuri version were published in hard copy, but all other versions were digital copies.
