Little is known of this film: the script-writer, director, and production company have not yet been traced, though it is known to be set in the 1860s and to have been filmed in the Blue Mountains. The film is described in advertisements as 'A BIG AUSTRALIAN MINING DRAMA', but appears to have been based on the play My Partner by American dramatist Bartley Campbell: advertisements noted that the film was 'as played by the late George Rignold' and Rignold, who had died in 1912, had made something of a success of Campbell's play in the late nineteenth century.
The film was a melodrama; according to advertisements, 'TO MEN IT BEARS A MESSAGE; TO WOMEN A WARNING'.
